While at the hair salon the other day, I learned a very interesting fact from hair colorist Sheri Roman. How I didn't know this before is beyond me. The same way your shower door needs lime Away or your dishes need a rinse aid, your hair too gets hard water damage. On top of the hard water, we also have a ton of build up from products we use. Regular shampoo cannot remove this, which leads to dull, "unsparkly" (not a word but you get it) hair. In general, it is very hard to make blonde hair "pop" when you see hair campaigns, generally it's the rich brunettes and redheads or one process blondes. When u have dimension in the hair or highlight natural hair it often gets dull pretty quickly. The reason? Residue and grime! Product build up, environment and hard water all contribute to dulling down hair color (yes brunettes and redheads this is for you too!) The solution? "Use a clarifying shampoo once a week as well as a hard water treatment" Sheri recommends Malibu 2000. It is all natural, non toxic and is a miracle worker! It will remove all buildup without stripping your color. They even have products that take the green out of super blondes who go In chlorine.
