WHY MEAL PREP IS SO IMPORTANT!

One of the most important things to do when trying to lead a healthy lifestyle is meal prep. Planning out your meals prevents you from over eating or just indulging because you're starving and grab at anything. I have done that a lot in the past. I would be so busy during the day I wouldn't have time to eat and then come home and eat my days worth of calories in one sitting. Not only is this terrible for your health and your metabolism but it was completely voiding out any work I did at the gym. My personal fitness goals are to gain more muscle and maintain good energy levels. Those are my two biggest challenges. I have the body type that is yes, thin but I have a really hard time building muscle. Nobody likes to be "skinny" you want to be trim and toned for sure but skinny to me just isn't attractive. I want to look healthy and have definition in my body, which is so, so hard for me to do. I also get very tired throughout the day. Mentally I am always exhausted and my job requires me to be on point. I have to memorize a lot of dialogue when I am working and auditioning which requires a ton of mental energy. The point I am trying to make is that eating healthy meals every two to three hours keeps your energy level up, your metabolism going and your muscles fed. When you wait too long between meals your body starts to eat away at the muscle and slows down your metabolism while going into "fat saving mode" because it doesn't know when it's going to get nutrients again and is protecting you. Thanks body but we're good, we don't want you hanging on to that fat.

When trying to lose weight, the answer is never to starve yourself. You are ultimately doing so much damage to your body and you will ALWAYS bounce back and gain more than when you started. The same goes for juice cleanses. I hate it when people say they are on a juice cleanse. If you are going to do it for one day, yes there are many health benefits to that. But any more than that I strongly do not believe in. And if your goal is to lose weight well then you are suffering for nothing because all you do is lose water weight that will come right back when you go back to normal eating.

Here is a sample of what I eat in a day. I do want you to know that I don't always stick to this and i eat whatever I want on the weekends including french fries, margaritas, Chinese food , mexican and lots of chips and dark chocolate (I still stay away from dairy because my skin breaks out)
